How Taking a Break from Screens Boosted My Creative Flow on the MK44 HammerKnight Build

Taking a Step Back to Move Forward: My MK44 HammerKnight Build Experience

As many of you know, I spend a lot of time building models, whether it’s for my guidebooks, projects, or content creation. But every now and then, it’s important to slow things down, step away from the screens, and just immerse myself in the hobby as a way to recharge.

Yesterday, I took a full day away from social media and screens, opting instead to focus on something that’s both work-related and personally fulfilling: building the MK44 HammerKnight. Now, while this model will eventually make its way into the revised 2nd edition of my MK44 Guidebook, I approached it from a different angle this time. Rather than seeing it as "work," I treated it like I did when I first started—just enjoying the process, with no pressure attached.

It reminded me of why I love this hobby in the first place. The creativity, the focus, and the joy that comes from seeing a project come together—these are the things that keep me coming back. And stepping away from the usual hustle of work deadlines and SNS made all the difference.

After a day of mindful building and some much-needed exercise, I’m feeling refreshed, clear of mind, and ready to dive back into my projects with renewed energy. Sometimes, a short break is all it takes to reignite that creative spark.

Here's a sneak peek at the work-in-progress MK44 HammerKnight, and stay tuned for more updates as this project unfolds!

Thanks for being part of the journey.
