Why I’m All-In on Creating More than Just Videos: A Look Behind the Workbench
This Sunday morning, I found myself at the workbench once again, surrounded by eight completed Großer Hund models sitting proudly on their bases. There’s something grounding about seeing the results of weeks of effort lined up. Looking around at the stacks of reference books and projects in progress, I was reminded of a quote I love: “Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go.”
This got me thinking about the different paths I’ve taken to bring this art to life, and today, I wanted to give you all a peek behind the scenes of what goes into each project.
For those of you who’ve joined me on Patreon, thank you! Your support allows me to continue creating across many different forms. While video content is often a big draw (and I love making them!), there’s so much more happening behind the scenes. Creating meaningful content is about more than just pressing record and hitting upload. I’m deeply invested in producing physical books, digital mooks, and a few unique projects, each one demanding time, precision, and intense focus.
Producing books, for example, is no small feat. They’re built over months of layout, design, and editing, crafted as timeless resources for those who love this art form. Unlike videos, books aren’t always as quick to consume, but they’re carefully put together to offer depth and inspiration.
So, if you’re here for the whole experience—books, videos, digital resources, and more—thank you. Your support is helping bring the full picture of sci-fi modeling to life. And if you’re here primarily for videos, I hope you’ll take a moment to explore these other projects, too. They’re all pieces of my creative process and a way to connect with you beyond the screen.
Thank you for being here and for supporting all aspects of this journey. It truly means a lot.
