What are those little Ma.K kits? Build Review plus NEW STUFF!!!
Hey guys, a really brief intro, unbox and overview of building up these little nifty little “Gatchanen” kits - yes there are in 1/35 scale - plus a heads-up on what is coming soon!
First off, I’m really sorry that I’m kind of out of the timing with the video releases, you may have seen that I’ve just done a couple of books and yeah, that was really tough but I also want to catch up and give you insights on what is good to get for enjoying some sci-fi modelling.
Plus “where to buy this stuff?” I’ll also keep you updated on how and where to buy these nifty things, mostly via pre-orders, here on my website.
Please sign up for updates to be kept in the loop.
Plus here are a couple of sneaky peek shots from my new book which is available for pre-order here now.
Yep, it’s the first ever official book in English on this topic, one for your collection for sure and as it’s likely to be a first stop for us English and almost English in my case speakers, I’ve included a special section on “What is Maschinen Krieger?”
These “GatchNen” (explained more in the video) kits are pretty nifty and lets just say, there’s a bunch more on the way from this same maker - Kaiyoudo. They may not even be capsule toys yet but boxed up suits and machines and that could be kinda cool - I’ll share more than as I am able and who am I to listen to? I used to work as a studio artist in Japan for this stuff but now do my own thing and am happy to share my unbiased views and insider tips on this stuff to so you know, please like and subscribe!
In fact, the new releases have just been unveiled at Shizuoka Hobby Show 2022, check these out!!
Big thanks to @Tora and @Osamanoodle from the Paint on Plastic Discord Community for providing the direct links and super speedy information. You can join our Discord Community as a free perk as part of your Membership and I super appreciate your support!
I do feel a little apologetic for showing these now as I think they were a splash release and not easy to get at regular retail, they are probably all sitting under that same guy’s IKEA sofa who has ALL them Nitto kits. But for sure they are still some around and I want to prepare you for future stuff coming up.
Build is super simple, like a really well thought out Space Marine but multi-part. Great instructions and the parts almost all have little under-gates, making clean up dead easy.
The parts also have clever little plugs on them that only fit in the correct, corresponding hole. So civilised! Even I am getting them right, first try!
The shape is great although they maybe skipped leg day a couple of times but somehow their feet didn’t. Weird but hey, they are the best ones so far.
There’s 3 versions, a Kauz, a Fliege and a Raptor in each of the off-white, yellow and purple plastics. I do hope they keep up the different colour plastics for future releases as well.
These two versions I have here for you are just pressed together, I only used glue on the off white dude (seen in flight in the video) and will be painting them up next to use as background details for a diorama for my “Camel” kit. (not shown, next time!)
Please look forward to a video on that one soon as well.
Thanks always,
Linc
Thank you very much for those who have already secured their pre-orders, I super appreciate you!! You can pre-order yours NOW!!
