Yellow Submarine Akihabara with Takuma san and the "Lin.K Shrine"!
Hello friends,
10 years ago on December 6th, 2010 this happened. My friend and manager of what is considered the Mecca of Japanese Scale Modelling, the Yellow Submarine Akihabara Branch in the historic “Radio Kan” building invited me to display my finished works in their store. To say I was shocked and ecstatic is quite an understatement and to this day, I so very much appreciate this honour.
Growing up in Japan, I was always highly aware being an outsider but in this wonderful moment, I became part of something and felt accepted. I was part of the modelling community in Japan and truly treasure this memory.
Together with my family, friends and mentors, we continue to visit Yellow Submarine often and build our relationship with the wonderful staff there.
Many of you may know Kanbei san of Tonerico. He was also staff and a manager here, that’s where we first met.
For what these wonderful folks have done for me, I will come back and update more and more memories and photos to build my own version of The Yellow Submarine in Akihabara “shrine”. I’ll use the Yellow Submarine tag so that you can find them too if you’d like to read through them.
Oh and I’d just like to reach out and say “thank you” to all the folks coming here and reading my blog. It’s been wonderful to see the numbers grow and folks coming back, I sincerely appreciate you for that.
Stay safe,
Linc
While it looks fantastic in a closed-suit pose, it’s tricky to balance for an open-suit display…
