Hey Brobots! Today I'd like to share a Foundation Weathering Skill with you, something I will do on almost every heavy weathered finish model. Think of it as a base and shadow effect upon which to stage advanced weathering processes. It's also a perfect step to practice if you are new to weathering and wondering what your first step can be - I highly recommend starting off with this - I did!
Yes this step will work on all Mecha and Sci Fi subjects when going for a heavier, weathered, high contrast appearance. Gunpla, Warhammer 40k, Macross and more!
Going forward, this is a plan for content shares, I will pick out Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Steps on each Model Finish and present them here to in video tutorial form, hope you enjoy it and that it builds into a searchable reference library for you. Yes the Intermediate and Advanced steps will remain full, long and in-depth while the Foundation series will likely be covered more quickly.
